I was just wondering if anyone has any advice for someone deciding which tractor would better suite their needs. The 1500d is mfwd, while the 2000 is of course not. The other difference is the size and hp, 2000=24hp,2000(approx)lbs, 1500d=18hp, 1279lbs. These 2 tractors can generally be had for about the same price, so I was wondering what opinions you all have on this matter of weight+power vs. MFWD.The tractors would be used mainly for field mowing and hauling a hydraulic dump trailer...and since tillers seem to come with all grey markets, some tilling every so often as well! Front weights would be added to either to balance out the rear weight. thanks.

Ben, I'm not very familiar with those particular tractors, and I can tell you that personally I really want 4WD (or MFWD); however, for the uses you mentioned; (no front end loader and no mud?), but field mowing, tilling, and pulling a trailer, then I'd want the bigger, heavier tractor. It'll be more comfortable. ....

I'd also promote the YM2000 for the same reasons. I am a Yanmar dealer ,so I'm familiar with the tractors. The ym2000 crosses to a US model, so there is a little better parts support on the YM2000. ....

Same here. I'd go for the 2000 unless you ever plan to put a front end loader on it. ....
